Bri and Mike

Hi everyone, and welcome back to my blog. Today, I am blessed to post a gorgeous engagement shoot with an amazing couple. Mike used to work for us at McKenna Video Services, years ago when he was in high school. Mike was one of our video editors. Wow has time flown by! We were so excited when he reached out to us to take his engagement photos. Of course we accepted right away, and had the opportunity to meet Mike’s love, Bri. What a beauty! Mike, you did good!!:)

I met up with Mike and Bri at the Mayflower Dairy Barn in Frederickson. I love this location for all of it’s different backdrop options. We dodged a few raindrops early on, but ended up with a beautiful evening. Perfect overcast skies for that great skin tone that all photographers hope for.

Congratulations to you both, Bri and Mike. It is obvious how much you love each other. Both Chris and I want to wish you the most amazing life together. Always have fun!!

How to Save Big Money by Not Hiring a Professional Wedding Photographer

Good morning, Friends.

Talk to any professional wedding photographer and they will tell you that one of the biggest challenges they face two fold: first, the notion from potential clients that I can save big money if they do it themselves (that is taking your own photographs) and a very closely related second, the cost of a professional photographer is just too much money. Well, I’m not going to get into the why a professional wedding photographer costs money (there are plenty of blog postings that break down everything from the cost of professional knowledge and expertise, marketing, equipment, time, etc., etc.) but I would like to share something that came across my desk yesterday.

As you know, I am not one who regularly reposts other’s blog, but every once in a while something comes along that is worth sharing. This post will explain the monetary benefits you will reap by doing your own wedding photographs. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did. Click on the link below to view the post.

Keep in mind my post is not intended to offend anyone, just provide a good humored look at things to take into account when considering taking your own wedding photographs. I can’t speak for the intent of the original author, however. 🙂

Blessings,

Chris

Please Hire A Professional

A friend of mine, not too close of a friend, texts me on Sunday that she “photographed a wedding this weekend and I hope the pictures turn out.” Hope the pictures turn out? Really?

Please, please, hire a professional! Don’t trust your amateur friends just because they have a nice camera. They have no idea what they are doing. Yes, its nice to save a few dollars, but if you want your special day captured in photos (or video) properly, don’t entrust them with your once-in-a-lifetime event.

Trust me, your friendship is not worth losing because your pictures didn’t turn out.

Blessings,

Chris.
